I know it is waaaaaay after Christmas, but I've been busy. Better late than never, so here is the Christmas ATZ special for 2010. This is kind of a unique rep for us because clan LTL decided to bring along the henchmen/followers they have picked up along the way. This mission promised to be very dangerous and we thought it was time to use some of our saved up resource.
This was also my first chance to try out my new winter trees and snow and I like it! I'm ready to try some winter settings in other stuff like napoleonics or WW2 now. Anyway, this is a long rep, so make sure you have absolutely nothing better to do. Happy New Year everyone!
Even if late, another great batrep!
ReplyDeleteHaha, spectacular carnage! This is really great stuff.
ReplyDeleteHow many zeds were on the board?
Whiteface / Oliver
Good batrep, good scenery, funny, good snow and I need to get me some big ass vehicles like refuse trucks and fire engines.Very good.
ReplyDeleteSimply superb! One of the most entertaining batreps I've ever read! Well done, Willy! You surpassed yourself with this wonderful Christmas treat!
ReplyDeleteDear LTL Dad, I can tell this is probably the best, better presented and funniest batrep I've ever seen!!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS for sharing things like this!!
Very enjoyable batrep. Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteHi guys! Thanks for checking it out.
ReplyDeleteWhiteface: At any one given time maybe a 100 or so. We were recycling as well.
Lurker: You might check toys r us, last I checked they still had these reasonable. They are Fast Lane 1/43 scale.
Some things about this game:
We spread the initial Zeds over the entire table. Then we added them normally.
We have no sound distance restriction. Gun shots are heard table wide for attraction.
First time we used doggie attributes. Healing saliva (doctor) idea by John Paul had its first go, and the evil dog gets melee bonus for rabies.
The snow goons triggered on the third doubles and were neutral with only santa recovery as objective.
Vehicles are pretty hard to stop. Easier to kill the occupants!
I need to order I Zombie now. The higher rep/well equipped heroes are getting too strong.
I, Zombie will certainly give your team a challenge. Willy. They'll probably do okay against smart zombies, but Ragers are just so scary. Never ever get into melee with them! Even if you win the combat, you can still end up getting infected. As for big worms, it's your choice whether to use them or not. They are potentially, party killers but I won't be using them in my campaign.
ReplyDeleteAlways fun to read your battle reports.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Very entertaining. Where'd you get the snow-covered trees? Great scenery.
ReplyDeleteReally nice LTL Dad, as ususal! Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteBryan, I think I'll follow your lead on that one. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteKelroy, the trees come from a dollar store chain called "dollar tree". There may still be some left from Christmas, not sure. They come in packs of two trees for a dollar and they are perfect for 28mm.
Thanks everyone!
OMG! best xmas batrep, yet. too bad i missed out on the action and couldn't join in. next year.
ReplyDeleteInspirational batrep as always! Where did you get all those nifty plastic counters to keep track of number of shots fired, fast move, stunned, etc?
ReplyDeleteFrom Two Hour Wargames. I have a link on this blog.
ReplyDeleteAwesome. I must get going on ATZ too, got the rules, the zombies, just need to paint some and go!
ReplyDeleteGreat report as always!
ReplyDeleteAwesome LTL, love it. What are you using to get the comic book text effect? I'm sure you've mentioned that in a previous post, but can't find it. I'd love to steal that idea, if I may, for when I get around my own Bat-Rep...eventually.
ReplyDeleteZombie Ad, it is a program called Comic Life by Plasq. Just Google it. I got the idea from Brutpaul and have never looked back. I have the paid version which was somewhere in the 20 something dollar range.
ReplyDeleteThanks LTL - I will be sure to check it out.
ReplyDeleteThose were the days!
ReplyDelete(After reading the sad news about Bryan / Vampifan) I am just visiting to have a look at the blogs that were the most important to me. Yours is still a very good read.
Take care
